Oklahoma City Oil Kings Announcement

Postby Oilers1 on Sat Feb 06, 2010 12:25 am

Quick, run tell the idiots in OKC they have a new team name of Oilkings for the Springfield Falcons, who are relocating to OKC. They are not even talking about it on their own board. Good news is the stupid blazer name will final die like the franchise. I hope Funk stays away so he doesn't run it into the ground too. It will be nice to have AHL hockey close. There will be a press conference Tuesday to announce the team day and discuss the future of the AHL in Oklahoma. Not sure the affiliations will be in place, but Tulsa may have some involvement. O yea, if things get signed for next season, then yes Hisey will be in OKC.

Thanks for the update. I would definitely drive to OKC to check out a few AHL games.

You sure about that? It's my understanding is that Edmonton is moving/selling there dormant AHL franchise (Roadrunners) to OKC, and Springfield is seeking another NHL affiliate.
